Chapter 3: The harsh truth
"Why can't I see her?" The little boy questioned quietly. Law knew very well the boy would want to see her, but she was incoherent, and Law did not want the boy to cause some form of shock to her in such a fragile state. But explaining this would be difficult, especially to one as young as Kon.
"She is barely able to remember her own name right now. Her fever has induced hallucinations, and letting you see her could be dangerous to not only you but her as well." Law replied lightly, the boy frowned, his lips pursing together tightly. He wasn't allowed to see her?
Bepo looked between Law and the boy before he glanced back at the room. Kon looked back up at Law with a glare, to which Law returned without hesitation.
"Let me see her, please!" He cried. Law stayed firm and shook his head.
"No."
"Please."

"Please."
"No."
"Please, please, please, please, please, pleas-" Law picked the boy up by the collar of his shirt and shook him lightly.
"Do you want her to get to excited when seeing you and have a heart attack? She'll die!" Bepo grabbed Law suddenly, forcing him to drop Kon, at hearing Law's harsh answer.
"C-CAPTAIN! HE'S JUST A KID." Bepo tried to reason with Law but said man only crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the wall.
"He'll have to learn sometime that this world is a shitty place." Law explained lightly. The boy clenched his fists and then kicked Law in the shin. Law gritted his teeth, biting back the urge to strangle the kid.
"It's only shitty if you make it that way!" With that Kon ran away from Law crying, Bepo following close behind. Law had given Bepo, shachi and penguin baby sitting duties. They would trade off, taking turns watching the kid.
Law sighed, turning and entering (y/n)'s room to continue treatment.
