Crimson Pepper 4 (Shanks x Reader)

 "(Y/N)?" Buggy screeched, his eyes all but bugging out of his head at the sight of the girl he had once known. Or rather, at the Beautiful Lady the tomboyish girl had transformed into. He couldn't believe his eyes, in fact, Buggy wasn't sure if this woman was even who she appeared to be.

  (Y/n) was supposed to be dead. Dead as a doornail.

 "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD! WHY ARE YOU HERE?"

 "OI, QUITE YER' YAPPIN' BIG NOSE!" (Y/n) retorted, nearly snarling at the younger male as she did so. He shrank back at her intimidating tone. 

 Looks like it really was her after all. 

  "It's been a long time since we've seen each other." (Y/n) stated, though the statement was blatantly obvious to the two males before her.

 The look on the red haired man's face twisted in a mixture of sadness and happiness at the words the woman had spoken. His lips quivered and his brows furrowed as he seemingly held back tears, whether they were tears of joy or sorrow she wasn't sure. But the look Shanks mad was enough to stun Buggy into silence. 

 Never had the red nosed male seen Shanks make such a face, not even once. Shanks was always happy, always smiling. He smiled so much that it was actually rather infuriating to the blue haired pirate. 

 "Y-Yeah...It's been a really long time." Shanks choked out from his all to quiet state. But before (Y/n) could even reply, or Buggy could react, Shanks was yanking the woman into a tight embrace. 

 His arm wrapped around her waist, crushing her smaller form to his own with a force that knocked the breath right out of her. She could feel her eyes going wide in surprise at the sudden bone crushing hug from the man who was not nearly as boyish as she had remembered him being.

 "Shanks, what are you-" She cut herself off as she felt him squeeze her even tighter. She sighed lightly, wrapping her arms around him as best she could given his large frame. How much had he grown? It seemed like an eternity since she had seen him. He was a giant in comparison to her 5 feet and 8 inch frame.

 "You've grown quite a lot, Shanks...you're taller than me now." She stated quietly as she breathed in his scent. Shanks chuckled softly as he rested his chin upon her head.

 "And you have shrunken quite a bit, you're the short one now." He joked halfheartedly, she pouted, glaring into his chest.

 That was when she noticed the empty space where his other arm should have been, she had been wondering why he had only used one arm to fend off enemy attacks earlier. 

 "Shanks...what happened to your arm?" She suddenly pulled back, looking up into his eyes in confusion. But he only grinned in return to her question.

 "It's a long story, let's talk about it later."

 Oh, she had forgotten that they were standing in the middle of a battlefield with everyone in the navy as well as pirates staring directly at Shanks and herself.
